What are your opening hours?

Furniture4U is open from 09:30am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday

How does it work?

F4U operates like any other retail outlet, purchases can be made outright by cash or card, or you may be able to pay in instalments subject to eligibility.

How do I become a customer?

F4U is open to everybody, however to benefit from credit terms you need to live, work or study in Bolton.

Do I need to be in work to get credit from you?

No, the only requirements are that you live, work or study in the Bolton area, that your repayments are affordable and you have a reasonable credit history for any credit checked loan agreements.

When and how will my delivery be booked?

Delivery is arranged with the supplier on the completion of the purchase.

What do you charge for delivery?

Delivery is included in the advertised price.

What do you charge for installation?

For electrical items, installation is included in the advertised price; however a charge of £50 will be made for gas installations which have to be conducted by a Gas Safe registered engineer.

How do I arrange for an assessment / repair of a damaged item?

All items come with manufacturer’s warranty; if you are experiencing a problem with your purchase you should contact their customer service teams.

Do you delivery nationally?

F4U was established to serve the needs of people who live, work or study in Bolton, consequently F4U will only arrange local delivery.

Can someone else sign for my delivery?

Delivery will be made to an address specified when ordering; any adult can sign for delivery.

Will you take away my old item?

Yes we can take away white goods at the time of delivery, and there is no additional cost to the price advertised in Furniture4U.
An additional charge is made for the removal of soft furnishings, such as beds, sofas etc.
An additional charge is also made for the disposal of old flooring.
Both of these costs can be added to any loan agreement at the time of the application.

Can I collect my item from instore?

There is no capacity to collect items from instore; items will be delivered to the address specified when ordering with the exception of white goods that can on occasions be collected directly from the supplier.

My item hasn't been delivered, who can I speak to?

In the unlikely event that your delivery does not arrive in the agreed time slot, you should contact F4U.

What am I signing up to when I buy a product from Furniture4U?

Making a purchase from F4U on credit terms means you will be entering into a formal loan agreement with Hoot Credit Union.

What's the process?

If paying in instalments, you will need to complete an application form and provide personal identification documents, proof of address and the latest two months bank statements. Your application will be assessed by Hoot who will inform you of the outcome. Once your loan has been approved you will need to sign your loan agreement and arrange delivery of your goods.

Why do you need me to send bank statements?

Your bank statements are necessary to assess if you can comfortably afford to repay your loan. Creating additional financial pressure is the last thing F4U wants to do.

How long will my order take to go through loan application process?

Once your loan application is submitted, Hoot would aim to make a decision within two working days.

What is included in the weekly price?

The weekly price covers the cost of your loan, but also includes a minimum of £1 which is paid into a personal saving account. Once your loan has been repaid in full, the money in the savings account is yours to do what you want with.

What repayment options do I have?

Repayments can be made weekly, fortnightly or monthly, and terms will be discussed when you sign your loan agreement with Hoot.

How do I make a payment?

Payments can be made in person at the Hoot counter, or through standing order from your bank account. You can also make card payments over the phone.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

No, if purchasing on weekly terms the loan amount will cover the purchase price. You can however make a part payment by cash/card thus reducing the loan amount and reducing the cost of credit to you.

When do my payments start?

Payments will start on an agreed date when you sign your loan agreement.

What if I want to pay off an item early?

Payment terms will be agreed when you sign your loan agreement with Hoot. Providing you meet your minimum repayments, you can make overpayments which will reduce the duration of your repayments and consequently the cost of credit.

Can I have another product from you?

Yes but this is dependent on how much you owe on your previous purchase and the affordability of the loan repayments
